Julia Roberts’ daughter Hazel, 16, makes her Red Carpet debut

Julia Roberts, the renowned actress, is known for leading a remarkably normal life despite her celebrity status. She has been happily married to cinematographer Daniel Moder for 19 years, and the couple’s three children, twins Phinnaeus and Hazel (16 years old), and son Henry (14 years old), are largely kept out of the public eye.

Roberts and Moder are diligent about shielding their children from the spotlight, which is why it’s rare to see them attending public events or sharing photos on social media. However, a recent exception occurred when Hazel, accompanied by her father, appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in France in July 2021. The event was the premiere of the film “Flag Day,” directed by Sean Penn and choreographed by Moder.

Despite not having a role in the film like Penn’s children, Hazel attended the event to support her father. Her striking beauty caught the attention of many observers. Some note her resemblance to her mother, particularly in her nose, while others highlight her likeness to her father. Hazel possesses blonde hair and blue eyes. She was elegantly dressed in a pale yellow long lace dress paired with black Mary Jane shoes. Her makeup was minimal, and her hair was neatly pulled back into a ponytail.

Throughout the evening, it was evident that Moder was extremely proud of his daughter, staying by her side. While Hazel’s future plans, as well as those of her siblings, in the film industry remain unknown, Roberts and Moder are intentionally private about their children’s lives. This discretion aligns with Roberts’ grounded personality and values, despite her substantial estimated fortune of around $250 million.

Hazel and her brothers had small roles in Roberts’ film “Mother’s Day” in 2016. Speaking about her children, Roberts revealed to Harper’s Bazaar in 2018 that she doesn’t believe her children fully grasp the extent of her fame. She acknowledged the challenges children face today and how different their experiences are from hers. Roberts expressed that she and Moder often find themselves uncertain about modern teenage issues, and sometimes respond to their children’s questions with a promise to investigate further.

In essence, Julia Roberts and Daniel Moder are a strong couple and dedicated parents who prioritize their family’s well-being and privacy over the trappings of fame.
