Single Liam Neeson, 72, says he’s ‘madly in love’ with co-star Pamela Anderson, 57, in gushing interview

Liam Neeson has revealed he’s ‘madly in love’ with The Naked Gun co-star Pamela Anderson in a gushing interview.

The Taken star, 72, who recently said he’s retiring from action movies, stars alongside the Baywatch icon, 57, in the upcoming reboot – detailed how the pair had hit it off during filming.

He told People: ‘With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with. I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.’

Anderson responded in kind calling ‘humble’ Neeson the ‘perfect gentleman. He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him.

‘He sincerely looked after me — wrapped his coat around me when I was cold.’ and added she made him bread and cookies and left them for him in his dressing room.’

Elsewhere Neeson quipped that he ‘doesn’t know’ where he can carry the role originally made famous by Leslie Nielsen.

Paramount Pictures previously announced The Naked Gun starring Neeson in the role of the incompetent police officer Frank Drebin, will hit theaters July 15, 2025,.

The script was penned by Dan Gregor, Doug Mand and Schaffer, the trio behind the  live-action film Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, which won an Emmy for outstanding television movie at the creative arts Emmy’s this Sunday in 2022.

Akiva Schaffer, who co-wrote the draft screenplay with Gregor and Mand, will serve as the director and executive producer.

So far, little is known about the story for the reboot, but it’s likely the famed team of writers will cleverly incorporate the ‘very particular set of skills’ Neeson has acquired while playing his action hero persona of recent years, including Bryan Mills in the Taken (2008-2014) franchise.

Neeson   — whose wife Natasha Richardson died in 2009 — previously said about romance, ‘I’m past all that.’

Neeson and Richardson married in 1994 and welcomed sons, Micheál, 29, and Daniel, 28.

He later dated public relations executive Freya St. Johnston from 2010-2012.

He told People : 'With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her. She's just terrific to work with. I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film'

Before settling down with Richardson, who was 45 at the time of her death, the Oscar-winning star had an illustrious dating roster that included Barbra Streisand, Brooke Shields and Helen Mirren.

Liam reflected on meeting Mirren, now 79, on the set of their 1981 movie Excalibur during a 2018 episode of The Graham Norton Show.

‘I remember being on the set and standing with Ciarán Hinds as Helen walked towards us dressed in her full Morgana Le Fey costume and we both went, “Oh f***,”‘ he said. ‘I was smitten. I think Ciarán was too, but I was very smitten!’

The two stars went on to date for four years and they occasionally keep in touch.

Neeson shared about a time they traveled to Southwest France, ‘I remember going to see a bullfight there with Helen, which was extraordinary. Got really mixed feelings about that, seeing extraordinary acts of bravery and then seeing this horrible death.’

He added, ‘Then we were on the Loire Valley camping. Oh my God, it was gorgeous. Helen was a good cook, cooking on outside fire and stuff. Lovely.’

Liam’s older son Micheál changed his last name to Richardson in 2018 to honor his late mother, who was an actress.

Micheál acted alongside his father in the 2020 comedy-drama Made In Italy.

About his son following in his footsteps, the father-of-two told People: ‘I think Natasha would be proud. I hope so.’

Daniel was at home in New York at the time of the ski accident that took mom Natasha’s life, but his brother was with her when she fell and hit her head on the slopes in 2009.

Liam was in Toronto filming.

Natasha, who appeared in Hollywood films The Parent Trap and Maid In Manhattan, had been taking a beginner’s skiing lesson when the accident occured.

She wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time and had initially said she felt fine before her condition deteriorated at her hotel an hour later.

The Tony Award winner was flown to New York, where she died two days later with her family at her hospital bedside.
