At Max Mara, Brie Larson Sees Venice for the Very First Time

Everyone remembers their first time. Thanks to Max Mara, Brie Larson can now check Venice off her travel bucket list. The actress decamped to the Floating City to take in the Italian brand’s resort 2025 collection at the Palazzo Ducale, a.k.a. the Doge’s Palace, alongside Kate Hudson and Yara Shahidi, but found time for some good old-fashioned sightseeing, too. Her favorite thing about being a tourist? “Just getting lost, stumbling around,” Larson tells ELLE. “There are gorgeous shops of course, and amazing museums. Today I got some stationery and perfume, then I ate a pizza with some Meloncello. I never met an Italian dish I didn’t like.” Below, she takes us along as she gets ready for Max Mara’s show.

When I think of Max Mara, I think of chic, timeless designs, great tailoring, and [something that looks] perfect off the rack.

The [beauty] inspiration was Catherine Deneuve: lucious hair with clean, simple makeup. Elevated but easy.

I’ve found so much love for fashion the older I get. It’s a way to transform and express myself—a never-ending journey I’m thrilled to be on.

I hardly ever wear things that show off my legs, but Venice felt like the place to do it. It’s such a sensual place—to feel the breeze and ease is heavenly.

All about feeling the senses of Venice. This is my first time here and I wanted to live the dream!

This outfit makes me feel like I could do anything—I can walk around the cobblestone streets and roll right into dinner!

My favorite part of going to a fashion show is being inside the designer’s dream. You’re fully immersed in their vision. It always inspires me.
