Amidst growing speculation about her personal life, Jennifer Lopez has decided to cancel her upcoming “This Is Me… Live” tour.
On Friday, the singer and actress announced the cancellation on her website, expressing deep regret and heartbreak over the decision.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated,” she wrote to her fans. “Please understand that this decision was not made lightly. I promise to make it up to you, and we will all be together again soon. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Representatives for the tour promoter, Live Nation, informed Billboard that Lopez “is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.” They also assured ticket holders that refunds would be available at the points of purchase.
Lopez had been scheduled to kick off the “This Is Me… Live” tour on June 26 in Orlando, Florida, with subsequent stops in Miami, San Francisco, and other cities. The tour was set to conclude in August with two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
However, recent weeks have seen challenges for many of Lopez’s scheduled shows, with reports of low ticket sales leading to the cancellation of seven dates. Last month, the tour was quietly rebranded as a greatest hits show following the disappointing reception of Lopez’s latest album, “This Is Me… Now,” which faced criticism from critics and saw a steep decline on the Billboard charts.
The album’s release was accompanied by a feature film, “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” and a documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” both of which failed to make a significant impact with audiences.
The news of the tour cancellation comes amid increased media scrutiny regarding Lopez’s marriage to actor Ben Affleck. Despite marrying in 2022, the couple has made only a few joint appearances this spring, fueling speculation and public interest.
