Britney Spears finally breaks silence after shock split from Sam Asghari

It’s been widely suggested that Asghari – a 28-year-old Iranian-born actor – filed to end his marriage to the 41-year-old ‘Toxic’ singer due to cheating allegations, but at this point it’s only Hollywood gossip.

Page Six has reported that Asghari cited “irreconcilable differences” in his legal filing, which listed their date of separation as July 28. Not only this, but he’s also shockingly asking for Britney to pay spousal support as well as his attorneys fees.

Neal Hersh, Asghari’s lawyer, seemed to suggest that he will also be contesting his prenuptial agreement with Britney, given that court documents allegedly state that he’s “yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party.”

It reportedly continues: “There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam Asghari] at this time.”

In fact, Asghari seems to want to renegotiate the terms of his prenup with Britney, in order to keep her “extraordinarily embarrassing” secrets… Seems a little fishy…

According to Page Six, Asghari’s focus right now is “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”

As for Britney, she’s reportedly hired divorce attorney Laura Wasser, who has represented a number of celebrity clients, including Johnny Depp, Kevin Costner, and even Sofia Vergara’s ex-husband Joe Manganiello.

Britney has also finally spoken out in the form of an Instagram post, uploading a photo of herself sitting on a horse at the beach, captioning the snap: “Buying a horse soon 🐴 !!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar 🐎 ??? I can’t make up my mind 🙈 !!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on 😜 ??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar 😘 !!!”

Well, she clearly doesn’t seem to bothered by it all… Perhaps it’s the safety of knowing she’s got a great lawyer by her side!

Before getting married, Asghari had been incredibly supportive of Britney during her mental health treatment in 2019. People reported that Britney checked into a facility in April of that year.

Asghari had also supported Spears during her conservatorship battle, which finally came to an end in November 2021.

In June 2021, the Grammy Award winner spoke at a conservatorship hearing in Los Angeles – during which she told Judge Brenda Penny “I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m depressed. I cry every day”. Ahead of that hearing, Asghari had worn a #FreeBritney T-shirt on his Instagram Story.
