Maren Morris Celebrates Tucker Carlson’s Exit from Fox News: ‘Happy Monday, MotherTucker’

The network said on Monday that the veteran analyst and FOX News Media “agreed to part ways”; Morris, 33, wasn’t shy about expressing her emotions about the situation.

In an Instagram Story that included a fictitious screencap of a 2022 Tucker Carlson Tonight broadcast, she wished “Happy Monday, MotherTucker,” calling herself a “lunatic country music person.”

Following that, Morris posted another image to Instagram with the caption, “The only tuckers allowed are the drag queens.”

Naturally, the history between Morris and Carlson goes back to last September, when, in the midst of a social media backlash over transgender rights, the controversial 53-year-old media personality dubbed Morris both a “lunatic” and a “fake country music singer” live on Fox News when Brittany Aldean made an appearance.

When Aldean, the wife of Jason Aldean, made fun of parents of transgender children on Instagram at the time, Morris and other members of the country music community took offense. Morris retorted on Twitter, saying: “It’s really simple to, like, stop being a jerk? Revolt Barbie, sell your clip-ins and get over it.”

The Twitter conversation then turned into a segment on Carlson’s show, and Morris’ efforts ultimately led to Carlson’s designation of Morris as a “lunatic” as the basis for a t-shirt that helped raise over $150,000 for trans rights organizations.

Morris earlier responded to Carlson’s “lunatic” remarks when she became a popular meme in October; however, this current rebuttal comes just before the host’s tenure at Fox News comes to an end.

After Carlson’s final broadcast on the network on Friday, Fox News Tonight will be aired on Monday night. The show will be hosted by a rotating cast of FOX News personalities until a new host is chosen.

The network said in a statement following Carlson’s exit, “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

Carlson’s departure occurs on the same day that CNN fired Don Lemon. Other celebrities have voiced their opinions online, with Meghan McCain not holding back when discussing her response to the significant adjustments made by both networks.

McCain responded to the news on Twitter with the message, “It’s a bad day to be a misogynist on cable man.”

Controversy was nothing new to Carlson as a television personality. As was previously mentioned, he has a history of making misogynistic remarks. Examples of these include calling recently unveiled military uniforms that were tailored to fit pregnant women better “a mockery of the U.S. military” and saying that it is detrimental to society for women to earn more money than men.

The former Fox News anchor played a significant role in the $1.6 billion lawsuit that voting equipment manufacturer Dominion Voting Systems filed against Fox News, which has since been settled.
